Bridge Issues Questions and Answers

1. What is the purpose of the two cranes next to the bridge?
   Both cranes will be used for construction.
   The smaller crane is currently being utilized to piece together the larger crane.
   Once completed the larger crane will be placed on a barge in the river. The smaller crane will be working shortly supporting the bridge during sidewalk removal.
   
   
2. Will South Bay Ave be closed during construction?
   Per DOT there are no immediate plans to close South Bay Ave.
   If it does have to be closed it will only be during night time hours.
   
   
3. Will OFF THE HOOK be closed during construction?
   Per DOT there are no plans to close any access to OFF THE HOOK.
   This includes the parking lot off of route 36.
   
   
4. Is it possible for the Borough to consider other locations for parking facilities including Sandy Hook?
   Yes, the borough will look at all alternatives for parking facilities including the use of our already contracted water taxi.
